IMPORTANT NOTICE! Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm released on July 4th 2024 breaks Fruitbox functionality. To get around this, either use the latest Bullseye OS released on July 4th, or download and install the March 15 version of Raspberry PI OS Bookworm.
Welcome to the Fruitbox for Dummies website. Originally this was a PDF document that I created to remind myself of everything I had to look up every time I re-imaged one of my Raspberry Pis and installed Fruitbox. When I began, the PDF was only for Pi3s, but over time the PDF evolved, and a second guide was created to include everything you never wanted to know about installing and configuring Fruitbox on a Pi 4. Eventually I realized that a faster way to install Fruitbox was to copy and paste the commands into the terminal from a text file. This works great for me, but the text file lacks any real instructions for anyone new to the hobby. It occurred to me that I should just make a website. It’s easier for me to maintain a website than several different revisions of a PDF, plus with the website I can do cool stuff like add click to copy
text. Anyone using the click to copy text should be able to get Fruitbox up and running very quickly. Just open this website on your Raspberry Pi and copy the commands from here directly into the terminal window.
The goal of all of this is to make installing Fruitbox easy. With that said, the guides are pretty lengthy. Try not to be overwhelmed. Go section by section and you’ll be up and running in no time. This isn’t rocket science.
